I think I forgot how to blog!
Wow. Just wow! Its been over a year since I did a post here, seriously! Not sure where the time has gone, oh wait, could a crazy toddler have something to do with it??? We have had some big changes over the past 3 months. We decided to sell our home, tough decision but it was time. I had wanted to sell for a year or so and finally was able to convince my husband so we put it up for sale just to see what would happen and it sold in 3 days!!! Not really what we expected but its all worked out! Now, after 2 months of living with family, we are under contract on a home that is almost exactly what we wanted. Its a little bigger than our starter home, out of the city, and on over an acre of land! Woohoo! I have big big plans for this house already so here is a little peek into whats in store!
Call me nuts but I already ordered this arrow stencil! The wallpaper was $155 per roll but I found the exact stencil to match for only $22! Can’t wait!
The house has a very southwestern/desert look which is not at all my style so I have had a hard time finding images that I like and that go with the style of the house. These ones are my inspiration! Hopefully we will get to start some projects, just have to make it through the whole home buying process!

Apple Pie
Last night I made this:
I found the recipe on Pinterest titled “The Best Apple Pie You’ll Ever Have” and let me tell you they are not lying! It was the best apple pie I have ever had!!!! Bonus points too because it was a little preview of this:

Project Door
The husband and I finally completed a project, the first real one since having our silly baby! I posted awhile back about how I wanted to paint the door leading to the garage, it was ugly and plain. Then I also decided to add some trim to the door to dress it up a bit. This project was so easy, the hardest part was picking out a paint color!
Here is the door with just a coat of primer:
Then we added some trim:
And finally a couple coats of paint and it was done!
It turned out so much better than I was expecting. Halfway through painting I began to think I was crazy for painting a door almost black but once I stood back to look at it I knew it was the right color choice. The paint color is Mark Twain Gray Brick by Valspar in semi-gloss. Now I have decided to paint all of our interior doors this color, its just a matter of finding the time!
5 months
Its just crazy to me that this sweet boy is growing up this quickly! He is now 17lbs. 1 oz. and still 95th percentile for height! He is so much fun and thinks me and dad are just hilarious, I will never forget his baby laugh, its overwhelming how happy that sound makes me!
Painted Doors
Lately I have been seriously dying for a project, anything will do! I haven’t done anything really since finishing the nursery in early April, I think I am going through withdrawal! Looking around my house I have tons of ideas and wishes…… but no the fundage to complete them. So then I started thinking of something simple, like painting. I think I have decided to paint the door that leads out to the garage, something fun like this.
4 Months
Look at this chunker! Last weigh in was 16lb. 2oz. He is still in the 75th percentile for weight and 90th for height! We are having so much fun lately, he laughs and rolls over and is almost sitting! Its so amazing.
Back to cooking!
Since having a baby its been really hard for me to plan and make meals. Am I the only one??? I feel like I haven’t tried a new recipe in forever and I am sooo sick of take out! So finally today I tried 2 new recipes from guess where……………..Pinterest!!!
This is a white bean salad with a lemon vinaigrette. It is seriously really really good, so summery!
This is a red lentil coconut curry soup. It is actually simmering right now, making my house smell amazing! I can’t wait to try it!
Chocolate Heaven
A few weeks ago I finally joined Pinterest, its awesome as I am sure many of you know. All of what used to be my blog browsing time is now spent on Pinterest, as sad as that is since there are so many great blogs I am not keeping up on. But regardless I have found many new ideas for my house and lots of great looking recipes too! This is what I made today…………… its downright sinful!
